Officers initially attempted to stop a man on a motorbike after he had been spotted with a false number plate. In bodycam footage released by the Met Police on X, officers are seen chasing down the rider before he crashes into an officer's bike. The suspect then takes off on foot.

A young man has died after being hit by a van as he crossed a road in north London. The 22-year-old pedestrian suffered serious injuries in Turkey Street, Enfield on Friday morning. London's Air Ambulance also treated him at the scene before he was taken to hospital. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, the male sadly died in hospital.
A man in his 30s has died after he was hit by a police car on an emergency call in south London. The pedestrian was struck by a marked vehicle at just after 12.30am on Wednesday. London Ambulance Service paramedics treated him, but he died at the scene. His next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers, the force said.
One victim was left hospitalised with stress after their finances were "destroyed" when loans, credit agreements and overdrafts were taken out using their name. Sentencing the pair at Iselworth Crown Court on Monday, Judge Adenike Bologun said the gang were relying on victims "being too embarrassed to report the crime". But she said she wasn't persuaded that the offences demonstrated hostility to the victims based on their sexual orientation, adding that "this was an opportunistic offence."

A 25-year-old man has died after falling from an e-scooter in east London. The Met Police were called to reports of a crash involving an e-scooter in Newham at 6.12pm on Saturday. Officers attended the scene on Prince Regent Lane near the junction with Glen Road with London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance. The rider - a 25-year-old man - was declared dead at scene after falling from the e-scooter.
